How it Works For Donors

Making Offers:

1. Make an offer for items you can send to Iraq.

2. If Servicemembers want the items, they will ask for them, and you can choose whether to send the items or not.

3. If you agree to deliver, you will automatically receive an Army Postal Office mailing address that you can use to mail the items to Iraq like any other mailing. If you do not agree to deliver, you don’t have to do anything.

4. Once the Servicemember receives the donation, he will notify you. Note, however, that although we no longer require Servicemembers to send individual feedback and pictures in response to each donation, we do encourage them to write email updates to all BO users when they have time

Meeting Requests:

1. Browse requests for items that Iraqi communities need.

2. If you find a request you can help with, post a pending donation for (part or all of) the items requested.

3. If the servicemember accepts your donation, you will automatically receive an Army Postal Office mailing address that you can use to mail the items to Iraq like any other mail. If he/she does not accept, you don’t have to do anything.

General Tips:

You don’t have to meet the entire request: You can choose to meet only part of it. Even the smallest donations may help! Let the servicemember decide whether to accept your donation or not.

You don’t have to ship the items: Once you get the servicemember's mailing address, just purchase the items online and give the mailing address to the online store. Then you can have them do all the shipping and handling for you.
